Yesterday I read an interesting tweet by Dr. Michael Greger which said, “The blood circulating in vegans fights cancer nearly 8 times better.” Obviously, these few characters caught my attention so I followed the link, where a short video on Dr. Greger’s site explained more.

Children learn compassion for animals

Leilani Farm Sanctuary is home to chickens, cats, goats, rabbits, donkeys, peahens, pigs, deer, and ducks. The sanctuary is an all volunteer, non-profit organization created to provide shelter and care for rescued animals and humane education to the community.

The sanctuary hosts at-risk youth programs, school field trips, special needs children, elder activities, and farm tours for the general public, including visitors from the Mainland. It provides the community with hands-on experience that is thought-provoking and stimulates social and emotional growth to all who visit.

Temple University, Pennsylvania

After the Animal Rights Conference in Washington DC, the 10 Billion Lives tour made several stops in Virginia Beach and the DC area.  One stop outside of the United States Department of Agriculture building near our nation’s capitol attracted media attention that was seen by countless Americans…however, it was not so welcomed by Beef Magazine.
